U16 Hawks Edge Out North Star in a Tight Finish
The Hazelwood Hawks U16 boys started their Titanic Quarter B Division campaign with a hard-fought 47–42 win over North Star Warriors.
The Hawks looked in control early, building a strong lead through composed ball movement and fast-break opportunities. Lucas Smyth led all scorers with 22 points, showing confidence and consistency throughout the game.
Despite a comfortable first half, North Star rallied late, closing the gap in the final quarter to make it a tense finish. The Hawks showed good composure down the stretch to hold on for the win and start their season on a positive note.
U14 Hawks Face Tough Opener
The U14 Hawks had a tough opener, going down 46–18 against a physically strong Tyrone Towers team. Despite being outsized, the young Hawks showed great effort and teamwork throughout. Ryan led the scoring for Hazelwood with some excellent finishes around the basket, showing strong composure and determination.
