Each week, our coaches select one standout player from each age group who best represents the Hawks’ values of effort, teamwork, and leadership. Here are this week’s winners and what their coaches had to say:
Senior Men – D. Brewer
“Dylan changed the game for us on Thursday night. His defensive intensity was through the roof and he made the Omagh players extremely uncomfortable. Deflections, diving on loose balls, steals, rebounding on both ends of the court, and added 7 points. He was a one-man full-court press. I felt like I was watching Dennis Rodman in disguise. We had some huge offensive games from other players, but I'm sure the team would agree, Dylan was the difference.” Coach Andy
U18 Boys – S. Olatunbosun
“It’s hard to argue with a 38-point game! But, we chose Sam because he showed that he’s ready to lead this team. He didn’t stop communicating the entire game, and the level of maturity and leadership he displayed was exemplary. He’s setting the standard for others to follow.” Coaches Emanuil & James
U16 Boys – E. Alinonu
“Ejike led the team on the defensive end with numerous steals and hit some big shots when we needed them most. He always brought great energy, whether he was on the court or on the bench and that positivity really lifted the team.” Coach Conor
U14 Boys – M. Bondarenko
“Mark was our dark horse this week. He really got the team energy up when subbed in. He listened carefully to instructions and implemented them perfectly. I’m not surprised as his attitude in training has been excellent from the start of the season.” Coach Tobi
